


About Lisa Liu
Lisa Liu is a Counselling Psychologist based in Linden, Johannesburg. She provides a calm, supportive and confidential space where adults and adolescents can slow down, reflect and focus on their emotional wellbeing and personal growth.

Her therapeutic approach is warm, respectful and deeply client-centred. Lisa works from an integrated framework, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy.
This allows her to tailor therapy to the unique needs of each individual. Her work is guided by cultural sensitivity and an appreciation for each person’s background and lived experience, ensuring that therapy is inclusive and meaningful.

Lisa has experience working in hospital settings and has been involved in a variety of community-based projects, where she has supported individuals and families facing complex emotional challenges. She works with concerns such as depression, anxiety and complex trauma and understands that these experiences can affect every aspect of a person’s life.

At the heart of Lisa’s work is a commitment to walking alongside you at your own pace. She aims to create a space where you feel heard, understood and supported as you make sense of your experiences, develop insight and explore pathways toward healing, resilience, and a more grounded sense of self.

Online therapy offers a flexible and accessible way to receive support from the comfort of your own space. Sessions take place through secure video calls, making it easier to prioritise your wellbeing even with a busy schedule or when travel is not possible. Online therapy provides the same care, connection and professional guidance as in person sessions.

Adolescent Therapy
Adolescent therapy is designed to support teenagers as they navigate the challenges of growing up, changing emotions and increasing life pressures. Lisa works with teens in a way that feels respectful and relatable, helping them build confidence, understand their emotions and develop healthy coping skills.
